Weekly Preview: September 5 – September 10

After opening weekend, the Terriers have a busy slate of contests this upcoming week. Men's and women's soccer, volleyball and men's golf teams will be on the road throughout the week. Volleyball and women's soccer will also host home events on Friday and Saturday.

Football

The Terriers will be off this week after their loss in the season opener against Westminster (Pa.). Hiram will return to action on September 17 at 1 p.m. against Kenyon, for their home opener and homecoming game.

Women's Soccer

Hiram will first travel to Marietta College for another non-conference matchup on Thursday, September 8 at 5:00 p.m. The Terriers are looking to repeat last year's shutout victory against the Pioneers, outscoring them 4-0.

The team will then face Grove City (Pa.) on Saturday, September 10 at 6 p.m. Hiram will be looking for their first victory in program history against Grove City. This will be the first time since 1999 that the two teams face each other.       

Men's Soccer

The Terriers will be competing in the Allegheny Classic. Their first game will be on Thursday, September 8 against Grove City (Pa.) at 6:15 p.m. The Terriers will then play on Saturday against Thiel (Pa.) at 4:30 p.m.

The Terriers have played both teams in the past. Hiram has a 3-2-3 overall record against Grove City and will be facing them for the first time since 1991. Hiram holds an 11-2-1 against Thiel. The last time the Terriers faced the Tomcats was in 2011.  

Volleyball   

The Terriers will travel to Heidelberg on Tuesday, September 6 at 7 p.m. The Terriers are looking to bounce back against the Student Princes after their 3-1 loss against them last season.

Hiram will then host tri-match against Hilbert (N.Y.) and Marietta on Friday, September 9. The Terriers will first battle Hilbert at 4:00 p.m. Hiram will look to remain undefeated all-time against Hilbert (2-0). After the Hilbert-Marietta match, the Terriers will face the Pioneers at 8 p.m. Hiram will look to repeat last season's match outcome, defeating Marietta 3-0.   

Golf

The men's golf team will be competing in the Guy Kuhn Memorial Invitational at the Meadville Country Club on September 11-12. The women's golf team is idle this week.
