Men's Golf Finishes 6th at Ted Barclay Invite

April 9 - GRANVILLE, Ohio - Led by a 26th-place performance from Michael Schustrich, the Hiram College men's golf team finished sixth at the Ted Barclay Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Granville. 

The event was played at the Denison Golf Club in Granville and the Terriers finished with a team score of 688. Hiram dropped their day-two score by six strokes, finishing with a 341 after pulling a first-round score of 347. 

Schustrich finished the two-day event with a score of 159, following up a first-day 82, with a 77 in the second round. His 77 was the eighth-lowest score on the course for the day. 

Other leaders for the Terriers included James Workman and Ryan Paterak. Workman finished 36th with a 167 (82, 85), while Paterak posted identical 87 scores to finish 45th with a 174. 

Ohio Wesleyan earned the team victory, tallying a 597 after posting a 300 on day two. Ohio Dominican earned a second-place finish, while the host Big Red finished third. 

The individual winner was Denison's Jonathan Taylor, who followed a first-round 71 with a 74 in round two, for a two-day total of 145.

The Terriers will return to the links on April 22 and 23 as they compete in the first two rounds of of the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships. The initial two legs will be held at the Meadville Country Club in Meadville, Pa.
