April 23 – MEADVILLE, Ohio – The Hiram College men's golf team recently completed the second day of competition at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Sunday afternoon. With two legs still remaining, the Terriers currently sit ninth in the standings.
Individually, Michael Schustrich continues to lead the way for Hiram through two rounds. The junior moved up one spot during the second day of competition, currently sitting in 38th place with a two-day total of 167. Schustrich improved on his day one score, dropping it five total strokes to finish the round with an 81.
Other Terrier competitors in the field included James Workman (41st), Evan Dalziel (42), Ryan Paterak (43) and Brett Fisher (45). Dalziel made the most drastic improvement for Hiram, dropping his round total by eight strokes in comparison to his first round score.
Wittenberg's Garrett Brickley overtook teammate Sam Stillwell for the top individual leader following day two. Brickley shot identical 71s in the first and second rounds to hold at a two-day score of 142 (-2).
As a team, the Tigers hold a 31-stroke advantage over the second place squad. Wittenberg finished with four players currently place in the top ten and have put together a two-day score of 577.
As the tournament heads for round three on Saturday and Sunday, April 29 and 30, the venue will switch to the Royal American Links in Galena, Ohio.
