Hiram Falls in Conference Opener Against Wooster

HIRAM, Ohio – In their first conference doubleheader of the season, the Hiram College softball team was swept by the Wooster Fighting Scots on Wednesday afternoon.

Hiram fell 11-0 in game one before dropping a 5-1 decision in game two.

The Terriers' lone run of the game came in the top of the seventh when Alexis Acton led off the inning with a double to center field. After Shalynn Call advanced Acton over to third, Kourtney Holcomb then drove her in with an RBI double.

Acton led the Hiram offense, finishing the day with two hits. Holcomb also added a hit and one RBI.

Hiram will next travel to Berea on Friday, April 7 to face the Baldwin Wallace Yellow Jackets for their fourth doubleheader of the season. First pitches are set for 3:30 and 5:30 p.m.
