CLEVELAND, Ohio – For the third time in her career, junior Kayla Yost has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Player of the Week, announced the conference office on Monday morning.
The honor came after the Terriers posted two conference wins last week against Denison and Kenyon. Over the course of the week, Yost totaled 27 points in addition to pulling down 17 rebounds.
Yost's best performance came in the regular season finale against the Ladies, who entered the game ranking second in the NCAC. The guard recorded a team-high 23 points while shooting 7-7 from the field and 3-3 from beyond the arc. Her performance also marked a new season-high.
In the win over Denison, Yost was a key contributor for Hiram, tallying a team-high 12 rebounds. She also added a pair of steals over the course of the game.
Yost has proven herself to be a rebounding machine for the Terriers. Ranking third in the conference, the junior averages 6.9 rebounds per game. She also ranks third in total rebounds with 173.
Yost and the rest of the Terrier squad will be back in action tomorrow, February 21, when Hiram hosts the Oberlin Yeowomen in the NCAC Championship quarterfinals. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
