Women's Golf Finishes Second at Rain Shortened Heidelberg Invitational

TIFFIN, OHIO  --  The Hiram College women's golf team finished second at the Heidelberg University Fall Invitational at Mowhawk Country Club in Tiffin.  The event was shortened to a single-day, 18-hole tournament after the first round was washed out on Saturday due to rain.  [Results]

Hiram posted a team-total 409 strokes to place second of four teams.  Ohio Northern University captured the team title with 359 strokes and Muskingum College was third with 427 strokes.

Individually, freshman Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) led Hiram with a 18-hole total 95 strokes (48+47=95).  Freshman Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) was second with 96 strokes (52+44=96) and junior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) carded an 100 (48+52=100) to finish third on the team.  Rounding out the Hiram scores was freshman Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) with an 118 (54+64-118).

Hiram will next compete at the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 29-30 at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
