ALLIANCE, OHIO -- The Hiram College women's golf team placed 10th of 12 teams at the University of Mount Union Spring Invitational at Tannenhauf Golf Course in Alliance. The event was shortened from a 36-hole tournament to a one-day 18-hole competition.
Hiram shot a team total 409 strokes to place 10th overall. Baldwin Wallace University won the event with 350 strokes and was followed by The College of Wooster with 354 strokes. Rounding out the top-three teams was host school Mount Union with 360 strokes.
Individually for Hiram, sophomores Jenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) and Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) led the Terriers by both shooting a round of 99 strokes. Sophomore Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) was third with 105 strokes and was followed by sophomore Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) with 106 strokes. Freshman Brogan Petree (Minerva) was fifth for Hiram with an 18-hole score of 123 strokes.
Hiram is next scheduled to compete at the Wooster Invitational on Saturday-Sunday, Apr. 5-6 at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster.
