Sept. 27 – HIRAM, Ohio – Two early goals, a penalty kick, and a late score made up the difference in Hiram women's soccer team's 4-0 loss to Nationally ranked Otterbein University on Wednesday evening.
The Cardinals entered tonight's contest ranked 22nd in the Nation in the most recent National Soccer Coaches' Association top 25.
Terrier goalkeeper Ally Green fought off the tough Otterbein offense with six saves in the first 20 minutes of the half.
The Terriers kept the tough Cardinal offense at bay, but the visitors broke through in the 24th minute as Alyssa Spencer knocked in the first goal.
Otterbein's Katie Exline snuck in a second goal with less than a minute left in the first half.
Bella Shivley tallied her first goal of the game on a penalty kick early in the second. Isabel Sentle then cemented the 4-0 decision with the final tally of the night.
Green finished the game with thirteen saves, a new season high.
Hiram will be back in action on Saturday, September 30 as they travel to DePauw to take on the Tigers. The matchup is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
