Oct. 7 – HIRAM, Ohio – The Terrier volleyball team closed out the second half of a NCAC back-to-back, falling 3-0 to DePauw University on Saturday afternoon.
The visiting Tigers would battle back to regain the lead from Hiram, 10-9, using a 6-3 run to take the advantage.
From there, DePauw would outscore Hiram 15-6 to take the opening set 25-15. The Terriers hit just .075 in the frame, while the Tigers committed just three errors, hitting .333.
DePauw would go on to take the match, capturing set two by a 25-19 score, before taking the final set, 25-20, handing the Terriers their second-consecutive straight-set defeat.
Throughout the contest, DePauw kept the offensive pressure on Hiram, committing just seven errors while hitting .365 on the day.
Hiram continued to improve on the offensive side of the ball as the match progressed, hitting .273 in the final set.
Individually, Kayla Cole led the Terriers with 11 kills while hitting .280 on the day. Wilson did not commit a single error in the contest, finishing with six kills while hitting .316. Destinee Harris added five kills for Hiram, while Madison Fortune and Kiara Franks totaled four, each.
The Terriers will return to NCAC play on Wednesday, Oct. 11 as the team travels to Oberlin College to face the Yeowomen. The matchup is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
