NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Hiram College baseball team fell at non-conference foe Westminster (Pa.) by a 10-6 score on Wednesday.
The Terriers fall to 8-26 on the season, while the Titans improve 18-21.
Westminster would answer with four runs in the first inning, but Hiram responded in the second, getting a RBI double by senior Mark Leone (Boardman).
Yet again, the Titans would score four times in the second and added another in the third to open up a 9-3 lead.
Hiram answered with a run in the fourth on a RBI triple by senior Jaren Bell (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), but Westminster came right back in the bottom of the frame with a run.
The Terriers would add runs in the fifth on a RBI single by DeAmicis and another in the eighth, on a RBI double from sophomore Eric Martin (Brookfield), but couldn't get any closer.
Hiram will return to action on Saturday with a doubleheader against Wittenberg that is set to begin at noon. The Terriers will also play Wittenberg on Sunday in a single nine-inning game at noon.
