April 17 - CLEVELAND, Ohio - After helping lead the Hiram baseball team to a series split with Oberlin College last week, Terrier freshman pitcher Hank Clegg has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced the NCAC on Monday.
The freshman starter earned his second NCAC award this season, after also being named the Pitcher of the Week on March 13.
Clegg pitched the first game of a four-game series against Oberlin, going eight full innings while allowing just one run on five hits. The right hander held the Yeomen to a .172 batting average throughout the game, not surrendering more than a single. He also finished the game striking out a career high 10 batters.

Clegg has not allowed more than six hits in any outing this season, leading the NCAC in opponent batting average (.183). He also currently ranks third in the conference in earned-run average (1.98) while sitting in the top ten in strikeouts.
Clegg and the rest of the Terriers will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 22 and 23, as they host Allegheny College for a four-game series. Both days are slated for a 12:00 p.m. start.
