WOOSTER, Ohio- The Hiram College baseball team opened their North Coast Athletic Conference action on Wednesday afternoon against the College of Wooster.
The Terriers fell in both games of the doubleheader as the number eight team in the Nation combined to score 31 runs between the two games.
The Fighting Scots took game one 12-0, marking the first time Hiram has been shutout since the 2018 season.
Hiram recorded five hits in the opening game with Vince Suso pacing the Hiram pack with a multi-hit game.
In game two, the Terrier posted eight runs falling 19-8 to Wooster.
Once again, the Fighting Scots sprinted out of the gate with nine runs in the first inning (9-0).
Between the second and third inning, the Terriers tallied six runs while holding the host to three. In the frames, PJ Suso scored twice. While Gavin Taulbee singled through the left side to score Alex Perrella. Zachary Bailey doubled to left center to bring home Taulbee and Vince Suso. Bailey ended the inning scoring the last run to cut the Wooster lead to 12-6.
In the remaining innings, Hiram would tally two more runs from PJ Suso and Perrella while Wooster would go on to finish the game 19-8.
PJ Suso and Perrella each finished with a multi-run game finishing with a combined five runs.
The Terriers will return to work on Saturday, April 6, as they travel to Wittenberg. The doubleheader matchup is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. start.
