CLEVELAND, OHIO – Hiram College men's basketball player and sophomore guard Aaron Stefanov (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) has been named this week's North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week.
After the first week of the season, Stefanov helped lead the Terriers to a pair of victories this past week with wins against the University of Mount Union and Notre Dame College to start the year with a 2-0 record.
Stefanov averaged 22.5 points per game for the week, including scoring a career-high 29 points against Mount Union in the season opener on Tuesday (Nov. 15). He then followed that up with a 16-point effort in the win against Notre Dame. Stefanov shot 46.4 percent (13-of-28) from the field, 42.9 percent (nine-of-21) from three-point range and an impressive 90.9 percent (10-of-11) from the free-throw line. In addition, he grabbed nine rebounds and dished out four assists.
Early in the season, Stefanov currently leads the team and the NCAC in scoring with his 22.5 ppg. average. He also leads the team in triples made (nine), attempted (21) and is the team's top free-throw shooter at 90.9 percent (10-of-11).
Hiram will go for its third straight win when the Terriers travel to Bluffton for a non-conference game against Bluffton University on Saturday, Nov. 26. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
