Kibler tabbed as Coach of the Year; Woodson, Jones named All-NCAC in Men's Basketball

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Hiram College men's basketball coach Chris Kibler has been named North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Coach of the Year the conference announced on Tuesday.

In addition, senior J.J. Woodson (Oakwood Village, Ohio/Bedford) was named Second Team All-NCAC and sophomore Kelvin Jones (Sheffield Lake, Ohio/Brookside) earned Honorable Mention All-NCAC honors.

Kibler led the Terriers to one of their best seasons in program history in 2015-16. Picked to finish last in the conference in the preseason poll, Kibler guided Hiram to a program record 12 NCAC wins, which was third in the conference. Hiram also won its first ever NCAC Tournament game and recorded 19 victories, which was just one shy of the program record of 20 set in the 1973-74 season.

He also becomes the first coach in Hiram men's basketball history to earn NCAC Coach of the Year honors.

Woodson earns his second consecutive Second Team All-NCAC selection, after leading the team in scoring (16.6 ppg).

He also posted a team best 57 steals, which was third most in single season program history. Woodson concludes his career with a 12.4 ppg scoring average and 118 steals, which ranks him sixth all-time.

Jones garners in his first All-NCAC honor after posting a strong season.

He led the team in rebounding (9.7 rpg) and field goal percentage (.559) and was third on the Terriers in scoring (10.2 ppg). Jones also posted a team-high nine double-doubles and recorded at least 15 rebounds in four different games this season.
