Sept. 24 – ALLIANCE, Ohio – Led by senior Trevor Wendel, the Hiram College men's golf team competed at the Mount Union Fall Invitational over the course of Saturday and Sunday.
The 36-hole invitational was played at Tannenhauf Golf Club and featured six teams, including John Carroll University, Mount Union, Baldwin Wallace, Muskingum, Westminster and the Terriers, as well as individual players.
As a team, the Terriers shot identical 339s on Saturday and Sunday for a total of 678.
Wendel posted the lowest round of any Terrier on the weekend, shooting a 77 on day one to end the day in 15th place. Wendel would go on to finish with a 161, posting an 84 on day two, to finish in 37th.
After shooting an 85 on the first day, senior Michael Schustrich dropped his play by eight strokes on day two, posting the Sunday-low for Hiram with a 78.
The Blue Streaks of John Carroll tallied the team title with a 604, while the individual medalist came from Baldwin Wallace, as Jimmy Clark shot a 146 with identical 73s.
Hiram will return to action on October 15 and 16 as they travel to Mansfield, Ohio to compete in the NCAC Fall Preview Invitational.
