April 28- MANSFIELD, Ohio- The Hiram College men's golf team closed out the second day of competition at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday afternoon. With one day still remaining, the Terriers currently sit ninth in the team standings.
Individually, Charlie Lichtenwalter continues to lead the way for Hiram. The freshman currently is sitting in 40th place with a two-day total of 168. Lichtenwalter finished the first round with an 81 and the second with an 87.
Other Terrier competitors in the field included Ryan Paterak (42nd), Trevor Wendel (43rd), and Aaron Rataj (44). Rataj made the most drastic improvement for Hiram, dropping his second round total by 13 strokes in comparison to his first round score.
Allegheny's Louis Olsakovsky currently holds the top individual leader position following day two. Olsakovsky shot a 71 in the first and dropped his score down to 67 in the second round to hold at a two-day score of 138.
As a team, Wittenberg University is in the lead with a combined total of 595. While the second place team of Ohio Wesleyan University is trailing with a score of 601.
The Terriers will be back in action on Sunday, April 29 to close the final day of the NCAC Championships at the Westbrook Country Club.
