Sept.14-HIRAM, Ohio- Duo Isaac Opoku and Keagan Le'Roux scored the two goals of the night, helping the Hiram College men's soccer team defeat Washington and Jefferson, 2-0.
The Terriers improve to a 3-2-1 overall record, while the Washington and Jefferson Presidents fall to a 2-3-0 record on the season.
After a silent first half, Opoku put Hiram on the board with an unassisted goal in the 48th minute of play. The sophomore's goal was his second of the season and third career goal.
Freshman Keagan Le'Roux found the back of the net in the 80th minute when he scored off a kick from Opoku to give the Terriers the 2-0 victory.
Hiram outshot the Presidents 20-4 and held a 3-2 edge in corner kicks.
Washington and Jefferson had a single shot on goal which was saved by sophomore Shelby Edwards, who finished the night with his second win of the season.
The Terriers will travel to Heidelberg on Wednesday, September 18. The battle with the Berg is scheduled for a 4:30 pm start.
