Swimming and Diving Falls to Mount Union in Home Opener

HIRAM, Ohio – The Hiram College men's and women's swimming & diving teams were defeated by the University of Mount Union Purple Raiders in their first dual meets of the season on Saturday.

Both Purple Raider teams improve to a 2-0 record on the season, while the Terrier teams fall to 0-1.

The final score of the women's meet was 142-27, while the men's final score was 134-27.

The Terrier men were led by Colson Faust, who placed first in the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:23.35.

On the women's side, Jenna Nelson and Meredith Fitschen-Brown took the top two spots in the 100-meter breaststroke in 1:25.75 and 1:28.20, respectively. Fitschen-Brown also placed third in the 100-meter backstroke with a time of 1:22.30.

Hiram will be back at it on Friday when they travel to Oberlin for their conference opener at 6 p.m.
