April 23- HIRAM, Ohio- The Hiram College softball team fell short in both of their games against John Carroll University on Monday afternoon.
The Terriers dropped an 11-0 decision after falling 5-0 in game one.
The beginning three innings were silent for both sides. John Carroll was the first to get on the board collecting one run in the fourth inning. The Blue Streaks didn't stop there they tallied another four runs in the sixth and seventh inning to secure the 5-0 victory.
In the second game, the Blue Streaks continued to rack up runs scoring six of their 11 runs in the first inning. In the remaining frames freshman duo, Kaitlyn Hager and Mariah Sheffield tallied two hits apiece but it was not enough to hold off JCU, who in the fifth inning cemented the 11-0 win.
The Terriers will have a quick turn around as they will hit the field again Tuesday, April 24 as they face Oberlin College on the road. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
