WOOSTER, OHIO -- The Hiram College women's golf team finished ninth after the final round of The College of Wooster Fall Invitational at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster. [FINAL Results]
Hiram recorded a team score of 459 strokes on the final day and ended the two-day tournament with a total of 891 strokes (432+459=891) to place ninth of nine teams. Baldwin Wallace University captured the team title with a two-day total 668 strokes (335+333=668) and was followed by Denison University in second with 685 strokes (337+348=685). Ohio Wesleyan University rounded out the top-three schools with 743 strokes (373+370=743).
Individually for Hiram, junior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) led the way with a tournament-total 198 strokes (97+101=198) on the par 72, 5,802-yard course layout and was tied for 30th overall. Freshman Megan Jennings (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) was second with 201 strokes (99+102=201) and freshman Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) was third with 235 strokes (113+122=235). Completing the Hiram competitors was freshman Taylor Stott (Akron/Archbishop Hoban) who posted the fourth-lowest score with 257 strokes (123+134=257).
Hiram ends its 2012 fall season with the completion of the Wooster Fall Invitational. The Terriers will open the 2013 spring season when they host the Hiram Invitational Apr. 20-21 at Aurora Golf Course.
