JEROMESVILLE, OHIO -- The Hiram College women's golf team finished eighth following the final round of the Wooster Spring Invitational hosted by The College of Wooster at Mohican Hills Golf Club in Jeromesville. [FINAL Results]
Hiram shot a team total of 398 strokes on the final day of competition and ended the event with an overall total of 802 strokes (404+398=802) to finish in eighth place of nine teams. Denison University captured the team title with 671 total strokes (333+338=671). Baldwin Wallace University was second at 686 strokes (349+334=686) and host school Wooster rounded out the top three teams with 696 strokes (362+334=696).
Individually for the Terriers, sophomore Jenelle Bayus (Cortland/Lakeview) carded a 91 on the final day to pace Hiram and finished the two-day event with a total of 193 strokes (102+91=193) to place 36th overall. Freshman Brogan Petree (Minerva) was second with 197 strokes (96+101=197) strokes and senior Carrie Dyer (Canton/McKinley) had the third-lowest total at 198 strokes (95+103=198). Rounding out the Hiram competitors was sophomore Alexa Griswold (Conneaut) with a tournament-total 214 strokes (111+103=214).
Hiram will next compete in the one-day Westminster (Pa.) College Invitational on Saturday, Apr. 12. The single 18-hole round is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. at the New Castle Country Club in New Castle, Pa.
