Alliance, Ohio - The Hiram College women's golf team opened the spring portion of their 2017-18 campaign at the Mount Union Invite on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers were represented by a pair of freshmen on the day.
Freshman Kathi Kline led the way for the Terriers, posting a 20th-place finish. Kline tallied a 97 on the par-72 course, posting her third lowest round total of her early career. The tournament was adjusted from a two, to a one-day event due to inclement field conditions on Saturday.
Along with Kline, freshman Kate Cawley competed in her first collegaite event, postinng a 115 in her first 18 holes.
Mount Union captured the team victory on their home course, placing all five of their competitors in the top seven. The Raiders posted a team score of 333, 30 strokes ahead of the second place team. The individual medalist also came from Mount Union as Olivia DeMartino shot a 78 (+6).
Hiram will be back in action on Friday and Saurday April 6 and 7 as they compete in the Malone Spring Invite hosted by the Alliance Country Club.
