HIRAM, Ohio -- The Hiram College athletic department has announced that Brianne Dishong has been named the second head coach of the women's lacrosse program.

Dishong replaces Erika Blozie, who resigned after four seasons at the helm of the program.

She joins Hiram after serving as the head coach at Kent Roosevelt High School.

Prior to Kent Roosevelt, Dishong served as an assistant coach at Division II Slippery Rock (Pa.) from 2011-12. While at Slippery Rock, she assisted in all aspects of team operations and recruiting.

Dishong was a four-year letterwinner at Slippery Rock as a defender and was a three-year captain. She currently is tied for fourth in program history in caused turnovers (78), fifth in program history in ground balls (130) and eighth in games started (54).

She was named First Team All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in 2009 and 2010 and also earned Second Team All-Region honors in 2010.

Dishong graduated from Slippery Rock on 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Communications: Emerging Technology. She also earned her Master's of Science in Park & Resource Management from Slippery Rock in 2013.
