Hiram was led in the win by junior Tayler Hall who tallied her first-career hat trick, posting three goals on seven total shots. She also added a team-best seven ground balls while causing a pair of turnovers in the win.
Two other Terriers posted multi-goal performances. Junior Alexis Hirsch posted her eighth-career hat trick on eight shots, while sophomore Gianna Palmieri notched her second-career multi-goal game with a pair of tallies on four shots.
Hiram dominated the first half of action, outscoring the Pioneers 8-3 while outshooting Marietta 17-8.
The two sides traded goals over the first six minutes, with Hirsch opening the scoring before Marietta's Shelby Millheim posted the equalizer less than two minutes later.
From there, Hiram put together a 5-0 run, with Hall grabbing a pair of tallies in the swing. Palmieri broke the even score with a goal on a player-advantage situation with 19:30 to play in the half. Hall then posted back-to-back scores, including one on a free-position shot to extend the lead to 4-1.
Hiram's leading scorer, senior Katelyn Slomovitz, followed Hall's two with her team-leading seventh of the season to extend the lead further, before Palmieri added her second of the half to push the lead to 6-1.
Following another goal by Millheim, the Terriers added two more before the half's end. Junior Christina Belleza tallied her first of the season, before Hall finished her first-half hat trick on a free-position shot with six seconds to play.
In the second half, the pace slowed down, with the two sides combining for just three goals. Hirsch scored both tallies for Hiram in the second half, including the last goal of the game with 18:15 to play in regulation. The Hiram defense then held strong for the remainder of regulation, posting the 10-3 win.
Sophomore goalie Gillian McMaster grabbed her first victory of the season, making eight saves on 19 Marietta shots.
