CLEVELAND, Ohio - Returning one of their deepest rosters in recent memory, the Hiram College volleyball team was selected sixth in the North Coast Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.
The Terriers, who return five starters and 10 letterwinners, overall, earned 40 points in the preseason poll, just one points behind Kenyon College for fifth.
11-time defending conference champion, and 2017 National finalist, Wittenberg University, was selected for the top spot with 80 total points and eight of the nine first place votes.
DePauw University was selected second in the poll with one first-place vote and 73 points.
Following DePuw, Denison (55 points), Ohio Wesleyan (54 points) and Kenyon College (41 points) rounded out the top five.
The Terriers followed in sixth, 13 points ahead of seventh-place Oberlin. Wooster and Allegheny finished off the poll in eighth and ninth.
Hiram opens the 2018 season on Friday, August 31, as they travel to Pittsburgh for the La Roche College tournament.
