CLEVELAND, Ohio - September 9, 2019 – Junior Lindsey Walker of Hiram Terriers women's volleyball was named the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) women's volleyball player of the week for the week of Sept. 2-8, as announced by the NCAC on Monday.
Over four games, Walker tallied a team-high 50 kills, adding 44 digs, five blocks, four service aces and three assists. Walker averaged 3.13 kills per set with a .152 hitting percentage, helping the Terriers to a 4-0 week and a 3-0 finish at the MIAA/NCAC Crossover Challenge.
Against Mount Union on Tuesday, Sept. 3, Walker tallied 13 kills, 12 digs, two blocks and one ace in Hiram's 3-1 victory.
In the Terriers' first match of the Crossover Challenge on Friday, Sept. 6 against Alma College, a three-set victory, Walker recorded a season-high 18 kills, along with nine digs and two blocks.
On Saturday, Sept. 7 against Trine University, Walker turned in seven kills, 12 digs, two service aces, an assist and a block in the 3-2 victory. And in the Terriers' final match of the Crossover Challenge, a 3-1 win against Adrian College (Mich.), Walker tallied 12 kills, 11 digs, two assists and one ace.
Through seven matches played, Walker has 76 kills on 232 total attacks (.138), 77 digs, 10 blocks, six aces and five assists.
Winners of five-straight, the Terriers and Walker will be back in action on Wednesday, Sept. 11 when they travel to Greenville, Pa. to take on Theil College at Beeghly Gymnasium at 7 p.m.
