CLEVELAND, Ohio - November 8, 2019 – Hiram Terriers women's volleyball juniors Kayla Cole and Kiara Franks earned Women's Volleyball Second-Team All-NCAC honors as announced by the North Coast Athletic Conference on Friday.
Cole was named Second-Team All-NCAC for the second consecutive year. In 28 matches and 105 sets played, Cole tallied 283 kills, 299 digs, 47 service aces, 30 assists and 27 blocks. The junior outside hitter led the Terriers in kills, kills per set (2.70), aces, points (344.5) and points per set (3.3) during the regular season.
Cole's 283 kills are tied for fourth in the NCAC, while her 299 digs rank tenth. Cole is also third in the conference with 344.5 points, and 11th in kills per set.
This season, Cole tallied 12 double-doubles and 15 matches with double-digit kills. In matches against Otterbein on Aug. 31 and Wooster on Sept. 13, Cole notched a season-high 18 kills.
Franks was named Second-Team All-NCAC, earning All-NCAC honors for the second time in three years. As a freshman, Franks earned All-NCAC Honorable Mention.
Franks played in 28 matches, appearing in 103 sets, and tallied 244 kills, 56 blocks, 39 digs, nine assists and seven service aces. The junior middle blocker finished third on the team in kills and kills per set, as well as second in total blocks.
Franks' 244 kills rank tenth in the NCAC, while her 56 total blocks are tied for eighth. The junior tallied double-digit kills 10 times this season, turning in a season-high 16 kills against Otterbein on Aug. 31.

Fresh off their opening round win over the Oberlin College Yeowomen, the Terriers continue play in the NCAC Conference Tournament on Friday, Nov. 8 when they take on the No. 4-seeded DePauw Tigers at 7:30 p.m. at Pam Evans Smith Arena in Springfield, Ohio on the campus of Wittenberg University.
